About the exhibition:
Legends, myths and folklore that are passed down from generation to generation, whether through oral traditions or literature, comprise a huge portion of a country’s heritage. “Stories from Home” is a visual chronicle of various narratives from the Philippines. It explores the archipelago’s collective memory, ranging from mysticism, pourquoi stories and tales of creation to narrations of heroic feats.

Contemporary Filipino artists provide an insight to these allegories through their distinct interpretations. The diverse imagery in this collection is as vivid and vibrant as the lore it characterizes. This amalgam of representation is a dynamic portrayal culled from each artist’s stylistic aptitude and attitude. Replete of symbolism and meaning, Stories from Home is a provocative inquiry in the fertile imaginings of its rich cultural history.
