The exhibition titled “Social Welfare” explores what happiness is for a
Japanese who is well travelled. The vibrant colors and jovial images that
belied the cultural of cuteness; Teranishi brings the viewer back into
days of childhood, to once again find the simple bliss we all had growing
up by taking joy in the simpler of life. By playful imagery, Teranishi has
bridged the reality of everyday life with the fond memories of childhood,
which does lead anyone to happiness.
